A Concept

I have been away from Warhammer 40,000 for a very long time.
My gaming now is mainly WW2 and Moderns.
The contrast between the two genres probably speaks for itself - I have a lot of issues regarding "realism" in Warhammer 40,000. Realism in a sci-fi skirmish game?!? But that's a matter for another post (/rant?).

Mainly thanks to my brother, I'm giving the game another go.

So.... ......Eldar!

I was impressed by a colour scheme for an eldar force that was created by the Games Workshop folks for the "Fall of Medusa V" Campaign. It took the traditional eldar colours and muted them to suit the landscape of the planet.
I've been doing a lot of desert schemes for my 15mm and 6mm, and the idea occurred to me that it would be nice to try something for an Eldar Army. The net result for the guardians is shown below.

Now here is the tricky part. My next idea was to look at the Dire Avengers. Rather than the traditional Aspect Armour scheme, I came up with the following.

In a similar vein we have Banshees (Skull White), Reapers (Chaos Black), Scorpions (Scorpion Green), and Dragons (Blazing Orange).

I've also done Warlocks (and Farseers?) using Warlock Purple and Hawks using Hawk Turquoise. I'm less pleased with these outcomes, so there will need to be some further changes on these designs.

Note that I'm not planning on using guardians for the aspect warriors, I've just used the online guardian painter to pull together a rough example of the colour scheme.
